Assistant Principal
Travis Long is our new Center Street School assistant principal.
Travis grew up in La Canada and graduated from La Canada High School in 1993. Following this he attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington where he majored in history while earning a Bachelor of Arts. Upon completion of undergraduate work, Travis moved back to Southern California and began a teaching credential program at Cal State Northridge.
Prior to completing his credential, he substitute taught for Temple City Unified School District for one year. When his credential was finished he began working for the Monrovia Unified School District, teaching 4th grade. Over the next nine years Travis taught both 4th and 3rd grades, along with a 4/5 combination.
In 2006 Travis began working on a Masters degree and Administrative credential at Point Loma University, Arcadia. He did his fieldwork in Monrovia during the final year of the program.
Most recently, he and his wife spent a year abroad teaching English in Nicaragua and Spain and working on farms in Italy, Slovenia, and England. They also spent time in Guatemala, Portugal, Morocco, Germany, and France.
