Attention all Incubus fans, the answer to your prayers is finally here! That's right kids, Brandon and the boys are back and they are better than ever. Their much anticipated album entitled Morning View was released on October 23, 2001. This was a follow-up to their previous album titled Make Yourself which was released in 1999. Music fans were literally blown away after listening to Incubus' awesome melodies. Incubus became popular with the release of their first single off the Make Yourself album called Pardon Me. With the instant success of Pardon Me, they released their second single Stellar. This was also a big hit, but the boys hadn't really tasted success until they released their third single Drive. This single skyrocketed to number one on various music charts and exploded on the airwaves. Once the video for Drive was released, the single became even more popular. Incubus had officially made it in the music world and they left their fans eagerly waiting for more. After amazing us with their incredible talent in Make Yourself, Incubus returns with their latest masterpiece Morning View. The boys spent several months in a beautiful Malibu mansion recording the new album. The street that the house was on was called Morning View, so they decided to name the album after it. The boys' inspiration for the new album came from the incredible view they had each morning watching the sunrise, and the wonderful vibe that their house gave off. Incubus had a studio built into the spacious mansion so that they wouldn't have to go far to work. The beautiful atmosphere and the wonderful vibes helped to put together one heck of an album. Morning View certainly measures up to their fans' standards and goes above and beyond to impress the listener with its hypnotic melodies. Morning View has 13 tracks and contains a special enhanced feature which includes footage from the making of Morning View. Incubus doesn't wander too far away from its' Make Yourself roots which is good. Tracks such as Nice to Know You and Blood on the Ground are pretty close to some of their previous singles. With the release of their first single off the album titled Wish You Were Here, the boys of Incubus have made a great comeback. The video isn't too bad either and includes footage from the Morning View sessions in their awesome house. Incubus took a very laid-back approach to making Morning View. They made it a point not to rush through anything, and having the workplace in their home made it easier. They would get up in the morning and go surfing, kick back for a little while, and then start recording. That would be a typical day for them. On the whole, Morning View is pretty awesome. The songs aren't too hard-core and they're not too mellow which makes them perfect. Incubus worked with producer Scott Lit who also worked with them on Make Yourself. My personal favorites off the CD are Wish You Were Here, Echo, Mexico and Aqueous Transmission. These tracks are of course much more softer than some of the others on the album. Brandon has the most amazing voice and that is what makes Incubus so awesome. Take the time to actually listen to the lyrics because there is so much meaning to the words. Go out and buy this CD if you are an Incubus lover because it is worth the investment. You definitely get what you pay for because all the songs on this album are amazing. |
