Senior Spotlight: Kristin Bard

Kristin Bard is probably one of the most amazing people you'll ever meet. I have had the extreme privilege of getting to know her during the past two years and have found her to be one of the most caring and considerate people at ESHS. She is one of the most easy going people, and she allows you to feel completely comfortable in your own skin. When in her presence, you'll immediately notice her amazing smile. Her great sense of humor and her delightful personality are also great assets to her wonderful personality. She was named "Most Admired" by the senior class of 2002 which she could hardly believe. Trust me, Kristin, there is much to be admired. Kristin is truly gifted, currently ranking at number one out of the senior class with an overall G.P.A. of 4.4. Her intelligence and great personality only add to her wonderful persona.

She has taken A.P. Literature, A.P. U.S. History in which she received a score of five on the A.P. exam and A.P. Calculus. Some of her extra-curricular activities include Key Club in which she was a member for three years, and spent one of them as President. She is also currently a college-peer tutor and contributes to the production of the Senior Scuttlebutt. Kristin was also chosen as a National Merit Finalist because of her awesome P-SAT scores which is quite an honor. She has applied to a number of UC's and has narrowed her choices down to UC San Diego or UC Berkeley. "I would like to stay in California and like San Francisco a lot so I am leaning towards UC Berkeley. At this point in our lives, we're constantly asked what we're going to do after high school and it is most definitely our least favorite question. When I asked Kristin what she planned on majoring in, she replied, "I'm not exactly sure what I want to major in at the moment. The subjects that I excel in I don't particularly enjoy that much, so I'm still trying to find a balance." Isn't that the truth? The subjects that we do excel in are our least favorite and trying to decide on what to major in becomes quite trying at times.

I asked Kristin what she thought about her overall high school experience and she said, "Graphic Arts with Larry was an awesome experience. He's so inspiring and I learned a great deal from his class. High school was pretty much a learning experience for me." Kristin is truly one of the nicest, sincerest people I have ever met. It's not every day you meet someone who has it all and is so down to earth. She is very deserving of class Valedictorian and I hope to see that happen. I would like to wish her all the luck in the world although I am quite sure that she will excel in whatever she decides to do.
