Senior Spotlight: Richard Vasak |
Those who know Richard Vasak know he is one of a kind. He has big plans for the future. Rich is determined to be a rock star, fake his own death, become insanely rich, and conquer the world, among other things. He will attend UC Santa Barbara and wreak havoc on that campus as he has on El Segundo's. In his spare time, Rich plays guitar and writes songs in hopes of becoming a rock star, and never misses an episode of Star Trek, Next Generation. Richard and his best friend, Steve Demuth, co-founded the band Hoodwinked. They are currently working on a new project called tentatively called “Aspirin Feast.” He sports outfits that always include the essential Velcro shoes and pink Barbie backpack. On top of this, Richard is also an Eagle Scout.
Richard is one of the most fun people I have ever met. He is not in the least superficial. Rich has strong convictions and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in or speak his mind. He never fails to reveal his true opinion, even if it is a little harsh. Rich knows exactly where he wants to go in life, and knows exactly how he is going to get there. All people say they are headed for success and riches, but I have no doubt that Richard actually will. He knows what he wants and is not afraid to go for it. “Wherever I head,” says Rich, “there will be throngs of women chasing me.”
Rich has a long history of leadership within the school. Last year, he was Junior Class Governor and planned Coronation, Prom, the Coronation Assembly, the Prom Assembly, the basketball and football snackbars, and a Communist overthrow of the establishment. He is also the Secretary of Propaganda for the Hedonist Club. He can also control people’s thoughts using his mind.
As the Bay Eagle's favorite Opinion writer, Rich has inflamed and upset almost everyone in the entire school. He has insulted the cheerleaders, the homecoming court, the prom committee, the coronation committee, the wrestling team,the water polo team, and the majority of El Segundo’s faculty. The Bay Eagle will miss Richard and his inflammatory, insulting articles. When Rich is gone, no one will submit any angry editorials. El Guapo - we will miss you.
