Many people have been led to believe that the increasingly popular game known as paintballing is a war lovers fight to the death battle with guns and tons of violence. True, it may seem rowdy at first, and would make any person apprehensive about doing such a thing, but once you get into it, you are hooked, you can’t stop. The point of the game is to capture the flag from the other side of the team, not just to shoot your opponent, which you only do as self-defense from being eliminated yourself. There are many rules and regulations in paintballing.
The main reason why people are afraid to go out and learn to
paintball is because of the fear of being shot by the powerful force of
the paintball. If people
would read the fine lines of the game and actually attempted it instead of
just prejudging what will happen to them, then perhaps they wouldn’t be
confused as to what to do in a game of paintballing.
First off, the rules are quite simple; each round consists of
twenty minutes to execute the mission of the course of having to capture
the flag of the other team, while trying not to become eliminated by a
paintball shot from the opposing team.
In your defense, you are armed with a paintball gun and loaded with
paintballs. There are the
refillable tanks at your side to put into your gun when you need more
paintballs to shoot your opponents. It’s a complex game, but it is quite easy to remember if
you follow the rules, then you wouldn’t get hurt that badly.
With all the rules, officials, and referees around and having a gun
check for the maximum speed it isn’t dangerous at all, but it still may
be scary. You are not allowed
to hit your opponent once he is on the ground or when you have already
shot him and gotten him out. If
you shoot him repeatedly, then you can be kicked off the course.
You are never allowed to take off your mask, which you must wear at
all times to protect your face from severe damage or injury. You can be penalized for removing the mask.
It is a fact that you are going to get hit from the paintballs
being fired every which way, and you are going to get bruised and
battered, possibly even scraped or mildly hurt, but never to an extreme of
serious injury or death. That’s
why there are safety regulations.
The people, who are ignorant to the rules of paintball and say that
it is unsafe and a hazard to your health, are definitely missing the
point. It is an aggressive,
competitive game of concentration and skill.
Obviously it’s not for the light-at-heart.
No one can be killed by a paintball.
