Boys' Soccer

The Eagle's soccer team ended the year on a high note, with hard work from all of the Eagles players. The Eagles worked hard this season to make it to the CIF finals, but came up just a bit short with a record of 8 wins and 13 losses, not quite enough to make it into post season play. The Eagles faced each of their league opponents twice this season, each time playing to the best of their ability. The Eagles faced a tough Redondo team, playing hard but losing 5-0. The Eagles then faced Inglewood with a 2-1 victory, Centenial with a 4-2 victory, and continued their winning streak at Morningside, with a 3-0 victory. The Eagles won because of tough play by Juniors Matt Robinson and Kent Krumbach and Senior Oscar Abdelshife.

The Eagles then faced Luesinger, but came up short in an upsetting 2-0 loss in overtime. The Eagles then had their work cut iut for them as they faced the three most dominant teams in the Ocean League, Culver City, Beverly Hills, and Redondo. The Eagles lost in all three games, but by close margins; Culver City 3-0, Beverly Hills 2-1, and Redondo 1-2. The Eagles were lead by the tough offense of Matt Robinson, who lead the team with 11 goals on the season, and Oscar Abdelshife, who had 7 goals on the season. Julio and Sebastan DiCarlo contributed 3 goals a piece, and Kent Krumbach and Spencer Carter had 2 goals each.

While the 2001-2002 soccer season was disappointing for the Eagles, they have much to look forward to in the years to come with the talent that the team looks to have in the next few years. Junior Matt Robinson said, "There's always next year." The Eagles soccer team's future looks to be very bright.
