Girl's Tennis Look's Forward to Finals

 

This year the Lady Eagles Tennis team has given many quality performances. They have improved very much from their humble beginnings. The Lady Eagles tennis team has had much success. The ladies that have been especially successful with the team of Alex Heckaman and Cathy Villalobos in the doubles match. The team is lead by singles player Rose Jeng who has played many solid matches throughout the season. The Lady Eagle's Tennis Team finished their League Finals in singles on October 31. The results of these matches were well received. Rose Jeng, one of the Eagle's leading singles players, played her first game of league finals against a strong Morningside opponent. In this game, Rose won her first match, with a score of 8-5, but lost her second match by a score of 3-6. In her third, and final match Rose lost with a score of 1-6. Rose fought hard and gave a great effort, but came up just short of victory. Kelly Moore faced Torrance in her first League Finals match. Moore fought hard, but also came up short with a loss of 1-8. The doubles League Finals have yet to be played, but Seniors Alex Heckaman and Cathy Villalobos are favorites to win league.

The Eagles Tennis season has been one of improvement this year. They have fought hard and achieved goals that they have set for themselves. Senior Cathy Villalobos stated, "Even though we didn't do as well as we expected, we improved even though our scores don't necessarily show it." The Eagles have kept up a positive attitude throughout the season and have shown hard work and dedication the their sport. They are looking forward to a strong season next year with many returning players. The future looks bright for the Lady Eagles Tennis team.
