It's Never Too Early For The Vans
Warped Tour '07
By
Neelofer Lodhy, Managing Editor
I have to say, it is never
too early to talk about the Vans Warped Tour. For those of you have
not heard of Warped Tour, let me just say, it is probably one of the
most eventful rock tours to ever travel America, aside from the
Taste of Chaos Tour. Both the Vans Warped Tour, and the Rockstar
Taste of Chaos Tour were made by one man, and one man only Kevin
Lyman, the amazing brains behind these awesome tours. The Vans
Warped Tour goes all around America during the summer, usually from
June to August; it all really depends on the dates. The dates and
cities change every year, last year Los Angeles was in around July
but this year, it just so happens to be the last date of the tour.
The Vans Warped Tour is simply about skating, music, and
just a day to go see great bands and hang out with your friends. Its
also a good opportunity to meet new people and meet some of the
amazing bands that play the tour. If you couldn’t tell by the name
of the tour, Vans is a shoe/skate brand which I’m sure everyone is
fully aware of, that’s one of the reasons why skating is a huge part
of the tour. Famous skaters from around the country are invited and
come out to skate on the Vans warped tour, the music is just a huge
plus because the skaters have said that the music gets them pumped.
There are many exciting and new things to catch on the
warped tour. Each year its different, with different bands,
different venues and a different theme. I asked Junior Brittany
Zeitsoff about what she was looking forward to about this years
Vans Warped Tour and what she likes the most about it and she said,
“meeting and seeing my favorite bands, and having a good time. I
like that you can walk around and see different bands when you want
to, I like that, and their randomly at their own booths so you can
just go and say hi to them.”
Another cool thing about the Vans Warped Tour is that
there are tons of booths there. There are booths from all the bands
on the tour, and clothing companies such as Kill Brand, Famous Stars
and Straps, and Atticus Clothing. Other booths that are really
popular on the tour is the PETA booth where you can go and get tons
of information about animals rights, and also meet animals rights
activists, and the TRUTH booth where they give you even more
information (aside from their popular commercials) on smoking and
how its not good for you. It’s fun to walk around and see all the
different booths that are there. You can also buy a lot of
merchandise for cheap prices! I have to say that its
never too early to talk about The Vans Warped Tour because the
second its over, you’re already pumped for next years Warped Tour. I
look forward to it every year, and I definitely walk out of the
venue with that feeling. Its awesome because you cant always see all
your favorite bands on one tour, so take the chance and go to the
Vans Warped Tour, you wont regret it. For more information and for
more bands to be added on the tour, visit
www.warpedtour.com and receive all your information from there.
From the wise words of Kevin Lyman, “see you in the pit!”
