Uturn Revolution
by Ericka Clarke, Staff Writer

Many students only get to see each other at school, but on Thursday nights there is another option, Uturn. Uturn is a youth group organization that is run all over the United States. When kids attend Uturn, they can hang out with friends, worship the Lord, and learn more about Him.
Uturn is never boring. When someone attends for the first time, they are greeted by leaders and rewarded with "Uturn Dollars". These simple pieces of paper are worth one dollar at the food stand. We all know that the "healthy food" kick is starting to be enforced at school. Uturn has all the things we love. We can play games or just talk.
After hanging out with friends, everyone is guided upstairs to the church. There is usually a game that is played, which is fun and gets everyone involved.
Later on, there is worship. The worship team consists of Pastor John Feldschau (guitar and lead vocals), Alice Crehan (vocals), Rebecca Ramsouer (vocals), Trinity Matthews (vocals), Ashley Lancorse (vocals), Tyler Geiglein (guitar), Seth McKenny (drums), Hanna Bredberg (keyboard), Katie Mayer (guitar).and Erika Clarke (bass). Worship encourages kids to step out of their comfort zones, let their guards down, and praise the Lord.
Pastor John Feldschau is the youth pastor at Uturn. He knows of all of the drama and exciting things that teens deal with every day. Pastor John always makes a point to relate to his teaching subjects. He usually tells a story that will get the point across, but will still make us laugh. His teaching subjects are not always fun and games. Many weeks, Pastor John will introduce a serious lesson or topic, and everyone cries. Most people that have lost a parent or someone close to them want to talk about it sometimes. Some people don't want to cry, and that's okay, but on those nights when I leave, I understand something better than I ever have before. The only way to get a point across is to hit your listeners hard with the truth.
Uturn is not an exclusive youth group, even though it is run by a Christian organization. All religions are welcomed. Most religions focus no one main God. During praise and worship, one can think about their religion and their God. Uturn's purpose is on to exclude those who do not share their same beliefs. Everyone is welcome in God's eyes.

“Uturn’s a great, fun place to learn and worship Jesus. You build friendships and cherish your time with your friends. There are great and responsible leaders that help us grow.”
