Biographical
Information
Mrs. Van
Breene has been
with the El
Segundo Unified School District since 1991. She began her career at
ESUSD
teaching 5th grade at Center Street School and later 2nd
grade. While at Center Street she served as Mentor Teacher, a member of
the
Leadership Team, and Distinguished School Committee member. In 1999 she became an Assistant Principal and
led in the creation of the plan to move more than 500 students to
Richmond
Street School in June of the same school year. She served as Assistant
Principal and Principal of the District Preschool until she was
promoted to Principal
in January 2004.
Mrs. Van
Breene earned a Bachelor’s degree in
psychology from UCLA and Master’s degrees in educational technology and
administration from Pepperdine University.
She is
actively involved in the El Segundo
Rotary and El Segundo Chamber of Commerce and is very appreciative of
being
able to work in such a supportive community. She
enjoys spending time with her husband and four
children when not at
work.
