Book
Fair
This week long event from
December 11th - 15th will give you and your children the opportunity to
purchase award winning and quality books at affordable prices. The Book Fair will be located in the Science
Lab and will be open Monday through Friday from
This is the week of Parent/Teacher
conferences so the kids will be on a minimum day schedule. Stop by on your way to or from conferences
and do some holiday shopping!
We also are excited to offer
"Books and Burgers" Family Night!
We will have late hours on Thursday, December 14th. The doors will be open from
All of the proceeds from the Book
Fair go straight back to your children's classroom libraries and our school library.
We also have two special
opportunities to support literacy inside and outside of our community. First the El Segundo Rotary club will be
collecting gently used children's books for distribution to neighboring schools
and children in need. So when you come
to shop remember to bring those books your children have outgrown or no longer
need. Boxes will be available outside
the office and at the Book Fair. We are
also participating in a program with Scholastic called "One for
Books". Donate just $1 and sign a
leaf book slip with your name so we can display it on our tree at the
fair. The money goes directly to
purchasing books for our library and for families in need in our community. Additionally, Scholastic will match the
dollars with a donation of up to one million books to three non-profit
organizations devoted to improving reading skills among children.
Thank you for your dedication to
creating lifelong readers! See you at
the Book Fair!
