Sharing

Once a week, on Fridays, your child will share an item from home during Early Bird or Later Gator time. He/she will be asked to sit before the group and give their classmates clues about their sharing item. There may be a sharing “theme” for the week, or sometimes a free choice share.  This is a wonderful way for the kids to continue developing their oral language and begin building their public speaking skills.

Your child is to bring in only one item in a small bag.  Please write 3 definitive clues on the front of the bag so that others may guess what is inside.  It’s a good thing when our friends can guess!  Do discuss with your child the types of things they might like to share.  Please remind your child that he/ she can only bring a toy from home for Friday sharing.  Do not send any toys that suggest violence such as guns, swords, or pretend knives.

If your child does not initially want to bring in a share item, it’s okay.  The kids will gradually feel more comfortable with the process as time passes.  If he/she forgets the item at home, they will have another chance next week.  If there is one, I will let you know what the share topic is in the Monday newsletter.
